“Our school had solar panels installed last year. The installers were great: respectful of our space and the needs of young children, even being kind enough to take their lunch break when children were napping so as not to wake them! It was a positive experience for everyone involved, and we’re thrilled to have more than 70% of our energy needs coming from the sun.” —Wendy
Who is California Clean Energy?
California Clean Energy (CCE) is a renewable energy service provider specializing in nonprofit organizations. CCE works directly with solar installation companies to offer solar Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) specially tailored for nonprofits.
How do we work?
PPAs are an alternative to a cash purchase that allow the nonprofit to utilize renewable electricity- saving money immediately. The nonprofits have zero upfront costs, as well as no maintenance and replacement costs, and no system operation responsibilities. Most PPA providers will not finance mid-sized nonprofits, leaving these nonprofits without a means to go solar without making their own large equipment purchase, frequently a financial impossibility. CCE is dedicated to providing nonprofits with less-expensive solar energy, allowing more of their money to be put towards their missions – not to mention a reduction in their carbon footprint.
When NonProfits turn to California Clean Energy:
- As an alternative to cash purchases – with zero up-front costs – for schools, churches, and other nonprofit organizations
- To save money on utility bills, leaving more operational money to invest in their mission
- When a large cash purchase of solar equipment is beyond the nonprofit’s capability
- When a nonprofit has sufficient funds to go solar, but wants to reduce the system’s cost with pass-through tax benefits
- To show leadership in being stewards of a healthy earth
- To partner with an experienced provider that has been successfully implementing PPAs across California since 2009
