Why go Solar?

Solar energy is good for you—and our country, and the planet.

It’s good for your budget

By taking full advantage of all utility, state, and federal incentives, California Clean Energy can offer clean electricity at rates that are typically lower than what you pay your conventional utility.

It’s dependable.

Solar panels are built to last. They have no moving parts, no compressors, and no tanks or fuel lines to maintain. Solar modules carry a 25-year warranty and will likely continue to produce energy long after that. Most of the photovoltaic (PV) modules made 40 years ago are still operating.

It’s reliable.

Solar helps prevent brownouts and blackouts. When demand for electricity is high—for example, in a heat wave, when air conditioners run non-stop—utilities must fire up their “peaking” power plants to meet the demand. These peaking plants are expensive to operate and heavily pollute the environment. Alternatively, solar panels produce the most electricity during sunny peak times, and the solar-generated electricity is used directly to help supply a building’s peak demand, called “peak load shaving.”

You can lock in your rate—for years.

Electricity gets more expensive every year. In fact, for the past 30 years, it has increased at an average rate of 6% per year. But when you contract for solar energy with CCE, you can lock in your low rate well into the future.

It’s abundant and sustainable.

In less than an hour, enough solar energy hits the earth to meet the entire world’s energy needs for a year. By harnessing just a small amount of this energy, solar power significantly reduces the financial and environmental costs of generating and using electricity. And solar power technology can provide electricity for our world indefinitely.

It’s clean & good for our economy

The photovoltaic (PV) modules that comprise solar systems have minimal environmental impact, with a small carbon footprint from the manufacturing process that is offset in as short a time as 1 year of use.
Almost all of CCE’s equipment is produced domestically, strengthening our economy and reducing our trade deficit. Using solar protects our economy against the threats of fuel price volatility and political instability, and it allows us to produce our own energy within our own borders. By supporting the solar industry, we’re helping to create domestic jobs and strengthen our economy.

Testimonials

Hear what our customers have to say...
“Sometimes, you just want to do what’s right. And when it’s this easy, there’s no reason to delay. For me, saving money is great, but reducing our reliance on the grid and minimizing my family’s carbon footprint was what made this a winner. I would highly recommend looking into partnering with California Clean Energy so you, too, can save your little part of the environment.” —Steve
“Our school had solar panels installed last year. The installers were great: respectful of our space and the needs of young children, even being kind enough to take their lunch break when children were napping so as not to wake them! It was a positive experience for everyone involved, and we’re thrilled to have more than 70% of our energy needs coming from the sun.” —Wendy
